A gang of robbers attacked dealers as masked policemen, and TEK put an end to the case

--

The real police attacked a gang of robbers attacking dealers as fake police, and the following events are suspected to have occurred. The three protagonists – let’s call them, if the police call them that – A. István, K. András and K. Péter – decided that they were going to rob drugs from their acquaintances in Gödöllő. They arranged a meeting with them for the evening of December 11, 2022. However, they did not arrive there as expected, but pretended to be a police raid. They took role-playing quite seriously:

  • they used a distinctive light signal on their car,
  • their faces were covered with hoods,
  • “Police!” they screamed
  • they took the victims out of their car,
  • laid on the ground and abused and then
  • they were handcuffed and searched.

HUF 600,000 was found in the pockets and in the car, and “presumably narcotic substances” were also seized. They were so happy about this that they left the victims lying on the ground handcuffed and left.

A year and a half later, the real investigators identified the three members of the criminal group, who were captured by the operations units of the Anti-Terrorism Center on April 16, 2024, as part of a coordinated operation. During the search carried out at several locations at the same time, the investigators

  • large amount of money
  • cloned copies of bank cards
  • computing and electronic devices,
  • a rubber bullet gun,
  • tools and chemicals necessary for the production of amphetamine,
  • several stems of marijuana,

and the tools necessary for its cultivation and drug-suspicious substances were seized.

The investigators interrogated and detained the 28-, 23-, and 22-year-old men, and the court ordered their arrest on April 18. The Cybercrime Department of the NNI is investigating what further crimes the suspects have committed with the confiscated bank card copies.
