According to local information, the vehicles were transporting a total of five cars, and one of them overturned. According to our information, a Serbian vehicle was driving from Kiskunfélegyháza, which was transported by two cars on the towed trailer. It collided with the Bulgarian car coming behind it, also with a trailer, which had three cars on it. As a result of the collision, the Serbian Mercedes hit the inner lane barrier and stopped facing the traffic. The two cars on the towed trailer overturned on the highway and blocked the road. The Bulgarian trailer car became uncontrollable due to the collision and drifted to a stop facing the traffic, where its trailer got stuck. As a result, the three cars transported on it slid together and were crushed.

We know that two ambulances arrived and a Serbian man was taken to hospital.

Firefighters from two counties were called to the scene, and the units from Szeged, Kistelek, Kiskunhalas and Kiskunmajs were dispatched, and with the help of a crane, they first lifted the trailer on the overturned cars, then manually set the two overturned cars underneath on their wheels and pushed them into the stop lane . Afterwards, the jammed cars on the trailer of the Bulgarian car were also pulled apart with the help of a crane, and they were also taken to the stop lane, thus eliminating the traffic obstacle. Due to the accident, this section of the M5 highway leading to Szeged was completely closed for several hours, causing a huge line of cars to pile up.
