Residents can choose from two options, thus reducing the utility fees to be paid for the amount of water used for irrigation. Only one of the two watering discounts can be used at the same time.
Consumers with a home garden with a floor area of less than 2,000 square meters can apply for a 10% watering discount valid from May 1 to the end of September. According to this, one tenth of the amount of water used in the given period does not have to be paid in the sewer fee bill. The discount can be requested at any time and it is a change compared to the past that if you apply for the discount once, it will be automatically renewed in the following years. However, for settlement, it is worth sending the readings of the hours read before May 1 to the service provider, and the closing hours of the water meter are also expected from October 1-10. between.
The amount of water used for watering can also be measured with the so-called sprinkling meter, i.e. by installing a separate side water meter. According to this, after using the taps for irrigation, only the water fee must be paid, not the sewer fee. An authentic secondary water meter must be installed on the garden pipe or outlet of the domestic drinking water network, and the water released from this can only be used for irrigation purposes, it cannot be led into the sewer network. However, it is important to know that the costs related to the design of the measuring site, the installation and maintenance of the water meter are borne by the consumer. As the service provider emphasizes, the amount that can be saved – and the time it takes to pay back the investment – largely depends on the size and nature of the garden and, of course, how hot the summers are.
