The government is preparing for another World Cup in Hungary

It is supported by the government, which is why negotiations can begin on hosting the 2027 pentathlon world championship in Budapest. The president of the Hungarian association spoke about this on InfoRádio.

The first pentathlon tournament in Hungary was held in April 1927 in Budapest. In connection with the 100-year anniversary, Hungary will bid for the 2027 World Cup

He added: for the time being, it is not 100% certain that Budapest will receive the right to host the event, but this is perhaps the most reasonable choice

The president of the association believes that it would be a beautiful centenary, because Hungary is in first place in the World Cup medal table in terms of gold medals with nine World Cup titles, just like Sweden.

He noted:

at next week’s World Cup in Budapest (the competition takes place from Tuesday to Sunday at the Ludovika Campus) they can start diplomatic negotiations with the international delegation.

He also talked about how after this year’s Paris Olympics, instead of riding, obstacle sports will be the new discipline of the octet.

As he said, he previously discussed the plan for the 2027 event in Budapest with Ádám Schmidt, the state secretary responsible for sports, from whom he received the answer a week ago that the government could support this application, they could start the appropriate negotiations.

In June of this year, the president of the association will present the sports development strategy to the government, which is also necessary due to the entry of the new discipline.
