This year, the public employees of Hunyadfalva planted kitchen garden plants in the municipal land. This year, in the smallest settlement of the county, plants are grown and animals are raised in the Járási Start work program. Mayor Eszter Vékonné Házi reported that the peas, onions and garlic have already sprouted. Diligent hands plant the seedlings in the nursery. Nearly a thousand pepper and tomato seedlings are waiting to be planted outdoors once they have grown stronger. Residents will also benefit from the harvest this year, who will thus be able to get green vegetables at a very favorable price. Last year, there was a great demand for it, both for the raw fruits, but the lechos were also caught.

The zoo is also populated. Recently, they acquired seventeen young cattle weighing two to three hundred kilos, replacing the adult cattle that were successfully sold at the end of the year. Heifers are also being raised this year, as female animal keepers can handle them more easily than bulls. The animals can also enjoy the open air, they don’t have to spend most of their time in the barn, thanks to the corral built last year.

The pigeon breeding project is also ongoing. Caring for the eight hundred Hubbell meat pigeons and cleaning their living quarters gives the workers plenty of work. Although the reproduction is disappointing now, the birds are laying eggs quite sparingly, so the number of baby pigeons is also small. Last year did not bring as much growth as before. However, they are not fed with food, emphasized the mayor, but with grain feed, they would also receive wheat, grain corn, sorghum and vitamins.
