Mayor Dániel Szűcs announced that the event that was canceled this year will be held again in April 2024.

Dániel Szűcs, the mayor of Mezőtúr, recently announced good news on his social media page: the popular East Fest will be held again next spring.

The festival has been held in Mezőtúr since 2012, and the event returned last year after a two-year hiatus due to the coronavirus epidemic. However, as we reported in February 2023, after several weeks of consultation and consideration, the organizing team of East Fest made a sad but rational decision that they cannot implement this year’s event – we wrote more about this here.

However, East Fest will return again in 2024, and the date is now known: the festival will be held from April 17 to 20.

“Negotiations about what the future might bring have been going on for a long time in the background, we have consulted with the managing director Péter Soós on several occasions and I assured him every time that the city is still behind the event, which we know we will help the festival with,” said the mayor .

“I’m glad that the good news is now official! I am convinced that our city needs this festival very much and we will support it in everything in the future!” Dániel Szűcs wrote in the following post:
