KDNP: what does respecting the elderly mean to the civilian government? Péter Harrach (KDNP) spoke about how: in November, 2.5 million pensioners received increased pensions, and at the same time they also received the additional pension increase that the government decided on based on the pensioner consumer basket.

He put it this way: the government has thus fulfilled its commitment that the value of pensions will not be lost despite the inflationary environment. In fact, there will be another increase in January, and in February the 13th monthly pension will arrive, also in an increased amount

He reminded: before 2010, left-wing governments took away the 13th monthly pension, froze pensions, and tripled the price of gas and electricity, effectively impoverishing the elderly

András Tállai, the Parliamentary State Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, emphasized in his answer: since civilian governments have run the country, they have always taken care of pensioners. The government will continue to preserve the purchase value of pensions, preserving the respect of pensioners, he added.

He indicated: despite the global economic conditions, the coverage for implementing the pension increase following inflation is also provided next year. According to his information, the amount of pensions has more than doubled since 2010, and the purchase value has improved by twenty percent. The interpellator accepted the State Secretary’s answer.
