Speaking about the events in the region, he said that a series of concerts entitled Siófok 55 will be organized as a special program on the occasion of the 55th anniversary of the city’s existence between November 30 and December 3, and on December 2 there will be an international nativity scene in Marcali.
Gyula Porga, mayor of Veszprém (Fidesz-KDNP), said that 3,200 events took place between January and October in 24 genres in Veszprém and the region. Music, visual arts and children’s programs accounted for 60 percent of the events. More than 773,000 participants were present at the special programs, 1,440,000 visitors to the city center, he added.
He called the fact that 38 percent of visitors arrived in Veszprém by public transport a great result.
Speaking about the upcoming events, he said: in the winter Gyárkert, from December 8 to January 28, a snow donut and ice skating rink, as well as a winter gastronomic offer await those interested.
There will be concerts in Acticity between December 27 and 30, the Hot Jazz Band will perform on December 27, Szalonna and her Band will perform on the 28th, an Abba show on the 29th, and a salsa New Year’s Eve party on the 30th.
On New Year’s Eve, there will be DJs and an open-air gastronomic frenzy on Old Town Square.
