There have already been several examples of the fraudsters they tried to gain access to customers’ personal and bank card data by abusing the names of telecommunications companies. Attempts have also been made on behalf of Vodafone, at the time, the company publicly warned people not to fall for the tricks. Now they are trying to defraud the elderly with another scam, this time in Miskolc.
A distraught grandson shared on social media that his grandmother was the victim of a terrible scam. On Thursday, November 16, a smiling man knocked on the door of the elderly woman with a red folder in his hand.
“A 30-year-old man on Avason knocked on my 82-year-old grandmother’s door. He said he came from Vodafone because he had to renew the contract with my grandmother.” – he told about what happened on Facebook.
The naive aunt even invited him to her apartment, made him coffee, and after they finished the “paperwork”, the man asked the woman for a fee of HUF 85,000.
My grandmother was completely shocked and wondered why he was asking for so much money, but she didn’t dare to stop arguing with him, so she paid the requested amount.
– He told.
After what had happened, the woman told her grandson about the incident on the phone, and she confessed that she also paid the money to the man.
I hope this will be an instructive story for everyone. Unfortunately, these dishonest day-stealing people do not shy away from anything. They take their money, which has been collected by the elderly for months, without any remorse. Be careful who you let into your home and don’t trust everyone!
he warns people.
