While the EU did not extend the Ukrainian grain moratorium, the Hungarian government not only ordered it under its own authority, but also expanded it with additional products. Kiev is now preparing to file a lawsuit against Hungary, as well as Poland and Slovakia, after the latter two countries also extended the import ban – hvg.hu noticed the Politico news.

Hungary, on the other hand, does within its own jurisdiction.

Tarasz Kacska, deputy minister of economic development, trade and agriculture, gave an interview to the foreign newspaper, in which he explained that this is not only an internal matter of the European Union, but also raises the question of whether international trading partners can trust that Brussels speaks on behalf of the entire EU. The lawsuit will be initiated at the World Trade Organization (WTO), because “the whole world needs to see how EU member states behave towards their trading partners and their own organization.”

Here we wrote about the detailed list of Ukrainian products that are prohibited from being imported into Hungary from Saturday.

However, transit shipments are still permitted.
