On Monday, the police found 84 people staying in Hungary illegally in an apartment building in downtown Budapest, 24.hu learned.
In response to our newspaper’s inquiry, the Communications Department of the BRFK confirmed that the Budapest police checked a property in the city center in the morning based on a citizen’s report.

86 persons were found in the property, 32 men, 14 women and 40 children, who could not prove the legality of their stay in Hungary.
They added that the Budapest Police Headquarters has launched an investigation against an unknown suspect for the crime of human trafficking, and the proceedings are still ongoing. Among the persons found, 81 are Turkish, 1 Iranian, and 4 Afghan citizens.
