He threatened the ambulances to blow them with gas spray, he also hit the window of the ambulance

According to the indictment, on January 3, 2023, an ambulance was called to the defendant’s brother in Szeremlé due to illness resulting from alcohol consumption. The paramedics who arrived at the scene – the victims of the case – began treating the brother. In the meantime, however, the hot-tempered accused kept obstructing the work of the ambulances. At first, he did not allow the ambulance door to be closed, and then he opened it several times, despite the fact that the victims indicated to him that this was interfering with their work. After that, the man shouted into the ambulance and threatened the paramedics with gas spray. Finally, he hit the side window of the ambulance with such force that it was crushed.

The criminal code classifies the members of the ambulance service as persons performing a public duty and provides them with increased criminal protection during their proceedings. Anyone who obstructs them in their lawful procedure with violence or threats is punished by the law with imprisonment from 1 to 5 years.

The prosecutor’s office accuses the man of the crime of violence against a person performing a public duty and therefore proposes that he be sentenced to a prison sentence suspended for a probationary period.

The Baja District Court will decide on the man’s guilt.
