During the day on Friday, we can expect thunderstorms to develop in the middle third of the country, but they may also occur in some places in the eastern and southeastern areas. At night, conditions will remain favorable for the formation of more thunderstorms in the central and southwestern counties.
Thunderstorms may be accompanied by stormy gusts of wind and hail (ice diameter of 1-2 centimeters), and the more intense outbreaks may also be accompanied by downpours (up to 30 millimeters) in the central regions today and at night.
The National Meteorological Service issued a first-degree warning due to the threat of thunderstorms for the entire territory of the country, except for four Transdanubian counties, on Friday. Due to cloudbursts, a first-degree warning is valid in Budapest and Pest county, as well as in Bács-Kiskun, Baranya, Csongrád-Csanád, Fejér, Heves, Jász-Nagykun-Szolnok, Nógrád and Tolna counties on Friday.
