The Kacsa út kindergarten in Pletykafalu can be renovated, the BMX track will be renovated in the Széchenyi housing estate, and this year the municipality will also support the organization of the summer day camp in Tiszaliget – all of these were decided at the Thursday meeting of the Szolnok general assembly. Also about the fact that Sifon, which started with great hopes, will temporarily close. There is no money for it…
First, the general assembly adopted an emergency independent motion.
The remit of Aba-Novák Agóra Nonprofit Kft. was expanded in 2020 with the operation of the “Szifon” youth community space.
however, he is no longer able to undertake it, so the community space is temporarily out of business, but they are looking for a new location to reopen.
At its opening, Mayor Ferenc Szalay said that the city’s youth policy is also important for leaders. And Zsófia Rácz, the deputy state secretary responsible for youth, stated that there is a very good message that there is a special place within the city that belongs only to young people. Memories and experiences, as well as the friendships that bind students together, help them stay in place.
Now the possibility of this is eliminated with the “temporary” closure.
Many people use the BMX track in the Széchenyi housing estate. Due to the continuous use of the track behind the Széchenyi High School and its current technical condition, a complete renovation of the equipment has become necessary, the expected cost of which – based on the preliminary calculation – will be around HUF 20 million.
The municipality is supporting the operation of the Tiszaliget summer daycare with HUF nine million this year.
The development of the Kindergarten on Kacsa Street can start with a grant of about HUF 363 million, and the public procurement procedure is currently being prepared. The institution can be completely renovated.
According to the information given at the board meeting, Volánbusz Zrt. – which ensures the provision of local public transport in the administrative area of Szolnok until December 31, 2024 – will enforce its outstanding debt, about HUF 1.8 billion, through litigation. The municipality initiated the possibility of payment in installments and is conducting negotiations with the company, the city offered real estate collateral.
