The well-known actress told in a recent interview that when Mari Törőcsik and György Schwajda took over the management of the Thália Theater in 1993, she was fired along with several members of the troupe, and she has had a hard time processing this to this day.
“Every quarter of an hour, someone came down the stairs saying ‘I’ve been fired too’. It was all sad, I didn’t know what to do with the situation, so I didn’t go anywhere to knock on the door after that. I always had a lot to do, I was dubbing, but then the theater ceased to exist regularly, as it was present in my life. I took note of this, I described myself as a theater person”

Fortunately, the actress ended up staying on the field, but what happened is still a vivid memory in her mind.
“In the whole thing, the disrespectful treatment that hurt the most was that the Maries didn’t even watch any of our performances, they kicked us out. They didn’t even care to pretend to care about who I am, what I know, before they announced that we were done ; that was offensive.
It’s interesting, but I still can’t process this fact. Everything can be discussed, but the way that Mari disregarded me, us, still hurts me. This behavior was characteristic not only of him, but of the entire new management.”

“On our field, it is in the deck that one’s contract will not be extended, there is no problem with that. The problem here was the behavior towards the company. However, all this happened a long time ago, and – unfortunately – the main actors, Mari Törőcsik and György Schwajda are no longer alive to discuss all this.”
