Feri Varga: “Betti and I decided to choose a different path”

After a while Betty and I realized that we don’t want to be stars – said the former megastar singer.

Feri Varga the Megastar he came second in his third season, at that time he was the best-known dental technician in the country. After the show, it turned out that the father of two at the time fell in love with the vocalist of Megastar and started a completely new life – wrote sassy.hu.

He left behind not only his profession, but his entire previous life. Many years have passed since then, and his decision has vindicated him. They had three children with Betti Balássy, and they are still happy together.

But the beginnings were not easy. This is what he tells Story magazine:

“No matter how you look at it, it’s a dream come true that I can make a living from music. When the show ended, the world of music was a completely unknown territory for me, because until then I had worked as a dental technician. We had a manager who handled everything, but

after a while Betty and I realized that we didn’t want to be stars. I want to go to the store in flip flops without being photographed. So then we made a decision to choose a different path.

This caused difficulties at first, but now this thing works very well. I’m happy if they call me, I’m happy to give an interview, but that’s not what’s important, but the quality of our songs and concerts”

When the question turns to whether the second place took a toll on him, when the jackpot was really just an arm’s length away, he replies:

“I understood well that I came second.

Even today, I happily remember the last period, when it was just the two of us with Magdi Rúzsa, we were preparing for the final,

and we rarely ran into each other in the huge building. Of course, it is better to be first, but in the long run, what is important is who manages the opportunities brought by the show, and then the second or third place is also perfectly fine.”

And just in case they don’t have performances, they both learned a new trade. Feri is no longer interested in working as a dental technician, he became a carpenter, and Betti teaches and is also a qualified podiatrist.
