Leonardo DiCaprio will be forever grateful to Sharon Stone, who in 1995 paid for the then 21-year-old aspiring actor out of her own pocket.

Sharon Stone published a book in 2021 The Beauty of Living Twice with title. In it, he wrote that “this kid named Leonardo DiCaprio was the only one in my opinion who captured the essence of the role in the audition: he was the only one who came in and cried and begged for his father’s love as he died in the scene.”

He also recalled that the studio was not thrilled, asking the actress, “Why would you want an unknown for the part, Sharon? Why do you always shoot yourself in the foot?”.
