On the occasion of Prince Louis’ sixth birthday, the royal family published a new photo taken by Katalin.
After controversy over the alteration of a family photo on Mother’s Day, Kensington Palace has assured that this picture has not been edited.

As they want to ensure Katalin’s privacy while she is undergoing treatment, the palace was aware of the risk of publishing a picture anyway. But they decided to put it out to say thank you for the birthday wishes.
The photo was taken in Windsor on “In the last days” – writes the palace.
For the Prince of Wales and their young family, it is a “unprecedented period“, as Katalin is still in the recovery period.

In January, he underwent abdominal surgery, and during the subsequent tests, he was diagnosed with cancer, and the treatment began at the end of February.
A Mother’s Day family photo of the Duchess in March sparked controversy, with photo agencies withdrawing the image amid concerns that it had been digitally manipulated.
This started fueling conspiracy theories on social media and eventually led to Katalin releasing a video statement about her cancer diagnosis.
