In recent months, the British royal family has faced many difficulties. After the news that III. King Charles and his daughter-in-law, Kate Middleton, have undergone surgery, with the shocking news that they have both been diagnosed with cancer.

Prince William’s wife has been forced to announce that she is undergoing preventive chemotherapy and has asked that she and her family be left alone at least while she is being treated.

And now it’s understood the Prince and Duchess of Wales are considering turning their home into something of a sanctuary – as part of Kate’s recovery process.

The royal couple are said to be considering renovating and expanding the little-known redbrick annex next to their Adelaide residence in Windsor. The family, who moved to the Berkshire estate in late 2022, currently split their time between the four-bedroom cottage and their beloved home, Anmer Hall, in Sandrigham.

Sources at Buckingham Palace said the Prince of Wales was “aware of the public scrutiny of royal spending” and was cautious about personally funding the expenditure.

“William and Kate absolutely love Adelaide Villa, which is suitable for the whole family, while Anmer Hall is much bigger,” the source said.

“Adelaide Villa is used as temporary accommodation while the children are at school because it is nearby, and Anmer Hall is used for long weekends and holidays.”

Palace sources have revealed Kate and William’s plans to renovate Villa Adelaide’s dilapidated redbrick annex to make it the perfect retreat for the family.

“What no one knows is that Adelaide Villa has a rather spacious red brick outbuilding next door which is not being used,” the insider said.

“Currently the outbuilding is uninhabitable and in need of major repairs. For some time there has been a discussion about making the plot part of the entire area of the villa, it is only a matter of time when the project will begin to be implemented.

According to royal sources, Kate needs a large and safe space where she can recover. The Duke and Duchess of Wales are considering footing the bill to renovate the villa themselves to avoid criticism of spending public money.

Villa Adelaide is set in 265 acres of private royal parkland. IV was built in 1831. As a refuge for Queen Adelaide, King William’s wife. The house was mainly renovated in 2015 and has a luxurious interior.
