All gasoline-powered cars can stand aside from the 2,000-horsepower electric monster

--

Already in 2019, Lotus announced the construction of an electric hyper sports car called Evija. Since then, the car has received a mysterious, racing-tuned design, about which we still know little, but now a lap at the Nürburgring has been thrown in, which speaks volumes about its capabilities.

The machine, officially named Evija X, is a real racing car, with gutted puritan interior, a serious aerodynamic package, and drum roll… 1972 horse power! This is not yet an official value, but the lap time of 6:24.047 was not put together by the flies, so the performance can really be around 2000 horsepower.

This makes it the third-fastest car ever to lap the Nordschleife, behind only the Volkswagen ID and the released version of the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo, although nothing threatens its record of 5:19.545 just yet.

Lotus is so proud of the result because the basis of this car is the street car, the carbon fiber passenger cell, the four electric motors, the 70 kWh battery and the 800 volt drive system are also the same. It’s true, the interior was cleaned, and they also got rid of unnecessary things like the headlights, and slick Pirelli tires were placed on the rims. In addition to the weight reduction, the advanced aerodynamics helped the record holder, the huge rear wing received a DRS function, which means that just like the F-1 cars, it could also be switched to a position optimized for top speed.

It's brutal what the 2,000 horsepower electric monster 4 can do

Of course, many full wallets would be opened for this car, but Lotus is not yet planning production, the only Evija X is currently a toy for engineers and test pilots, and the goal is to set as many lap times as possible, and even lap records.
