The second generation of the Grandland is the first Opel to receive an illuminated emblem
Last summer, Opel presented the Experimental concept car, which received rather extreme solutions. In the second generation of the Grandland, several solutions of the study car return, such as the illuminated emblem at the front and the Opel inscription floating in light at the back.

In the passenger compartment, the Grandland has become much cleaner. Of course, the digital instrument cluster is a given, as is the 16-inch, touch-sensitive multimedia display slightly tilted towards the driver. According to the announcement, the climate control underneath can still be controlled with physical buttons, but based on the photos, there are already “haptic” buttons on the steering wheel. For smoother driving, a HUD will also be installed in the car, but Opel also revealed the size of the luggage compartment, which can be expanded to 1,641 liters by folding down the 40:20:40 ratio seats.

On the engine front, the new model will be available in two versions. Grandland Electric, as its name suggests, offers only electric drive. According to the brand’s data, the 98-kilowatt-hour battery can travel up to 700 kilometers, and it can be charged to 80 percent in 26 minutes at public fast chargers. A plug-in hybrid, highlighted by Opel, will also be made from it, so far it has been revealed that it will be able to travel 85 kilometers exclusively with electric drive. The new Grandland will be manufactured in Eisenach, Germany.
