Hyundai Ioniq 5 N and N Vision 74
Let’s go beyond the models of the BAIC concern and look at a well-known Korean manufacturer! In Poznan, one of the first real hot hatchbacks with an electric motor, the Ioniq 5 N, could be admired. Next to it, Hyundai’s Polish distributor also exhibited the N Vision 74 coupe with a retro look and fuel cell power source, and they also brought one of their robot dogs (you can find a picture of it in the gallery), which then toured up and down the hall.
Both spectacular and sporty electric cars attracted a lot of interest.
Suzuki Jimny with five doors
Do I still remember the Maruti around the time of the regime change? Well, we met again one of the interesting things of the Indian company, although not on Suzuki’s beach, but at the Polish company called Iconic Motors. An interesting phenomenon is the extended, five-door Jimny SUV, which comes to Europe as a gray import. The now 3.82-meter body is powered by the same 1.5 (102 HP) engine as the officially sold three-door commercial vehicle version. With a manual gearbox, the price of the GL is 163,900 zlotys (approx. HUF 14.97 million), while for the automatic GLX you have to pay a considerable 181,900 zlotys (approx. HUF 16.61).
Polish Fiat 125p Coupe
There were plenty of admirers of this retro machine at the Polish salon, but probably few people would have passed by it without saying a word. This unique coupe was built by Grzegorz Duda from a 1977 model for the TVN Turbo program. In addition to the body work, period modifications were also carried out on the car, an original Fiat DOHC engine was installed, paired with a Mercedes-Benz automatic transmission. Its only modern detail is the use of widened Fiat Barchetta rims, but of course it also has the original factory set with chrome decorative discs.
Other Chinese luxury cars
Maxus has been distributing its commercial vehicles in the region for some time, and now it also exhibited a luxury MPV at its stand, to be precise, a version of the electric Mifa 9 equipped with two massage armchairs at the back. This is not yet on the official European range, only the seven-seater version, which is offered for 356,577 zlotys (approx. HUF 32.56 million). A little further away, the Voyah brand exhibited its Free electric recreational vehicle, which is sold for 329,000 zlotys (approx. HUF 30 million).
It is even more interesting that Iconic Motors distributes the long-established Hongqi luxury cars,
offers the E-HS9 electric SUV for 344,900-445,900 złoty (approx. HUF 31.5-40.72 million), the latter being the President version with a second row covered in Nappa leather and massage seats. The Nio ET7 was exhibited by No Smog Rent, which deals with the long-term rental of electric cars. If we take into account the previously mentioned BAIC products in addition to the models just listed, it is quite striking how many Chinese brands have landed on the Polish car market, which is much larger than ours.
