Almost 20 centimeters longer than its predecessor, the electric version of the brand new Opel Grandland promises a range of 700 kilometers.

Opel fans may have had the feeling recently that Stellantis is somewhat neglecting its patinated German brand, but recently the brand new Frontera appeared on the scene and now here is the also completely new Grandland.

Designed, developed and manufactured in Germany, the new Grandland is a 4.65-meter-long SUV, which is 17 centimeters longer than its predecessor and will be available in a new internal combustion engine, plug-in hybrid and purely electric versions.

The closest relative of the first STLA-Medium platform Opel is the Peugeot 3008, which we recently thoroughly tested, but the characters of the two models differ significantly.

The new Grandland, featuring the characteristic Vizor design features, now attacks with a lighted logo for the first time, more than 50,000 pixels serve in its super-smart headlights connected by a light strip, and the Opel inscription at the rear also lights up in the dark.

A huge 16-inch touch screen slightly turned towards the driver serves on the dashboard, and in addition, we cannot pass by the super-comfortable AGR-certified seats and the 550-1,641-liter luggage space.

The base model of the SUV equipped with a maximum of 20-inch wheels is equipped with a 136-horsepower 1.2-liter 3-cylinder turbo gasoline engine supplemented with mild hybrid technology.

The plug-in hybrid version with a green license plate promises an electric range of 85 kilometers, and the two versions of the Grandland with a purely electric powertrain promise a range of 525 and 700 kilometers, respectively.

Its larger battery, which can ideally be charged from 10 to 80 percent in 26 minutes, has a capacity of 98 kWh.

The official prices are still unknown. According to German newspaper reports, the mild hybrid version can start at 38,000 euros (15 million forints), and the electric version at 45,000 euros (17.7 million forints).
