A controversial section was deleted from the recently published autobiography.

THE Rebel Rising The publication of the book caused a big storm in the United States at the beginning of the month Rebel Wilson the star of the Borat films, Sacha Baron Cohen because of the accusations against him.

The actress was previously in 2016, Brainy and brainless called their film the worst experience of his career. She also said that Baron Cohen, who also produced the film, was a “huge ass” on the set, including pressuring her to appear naked for a scene and even asking her to stick his finger up her ass for comedy.

He added that the actor threatened to stop Wilson Rebel Rising the publication of her memoir, in which the actress writes about the above-mentioned experiences, among other things. Baron Cohen has denied any wrongdoing, and the British comedian’s lawyers have previously said the evidence shows the allegations have no basis in fact and are part of a “cynical commercial ploy to [Wilson] promote your book” .

In the British edition of the book, published on Thursday, the passage of the text that is believed to refer to him has been drawn out in black. A note was added to the page stating that the withdrawal was due to the peculiarities of the law in England and Wales.

A spokesman for Baron Cohen said the redaction was a clear victory and reiterated his position that Wilson’s claims were “provably false” and a “disgraceful attempt” to sell the books.

A spokesperson for Harper Collins told BBC News:

“We are publishing every page, but for legal reasons we are redacting most of one page in the UK edition, with some minor edits and an explanatory note. These parts are a very small part of a much bigger story, and we’re excited for readers to learn about Rebel’s story when the book comes out.”

A spokesman for Baron Cohen told BBC News that Harper Collins did not check this chapter of the book before publication and took the sensible but terribly belated step of removing Wilson’s defamatory claims after receiving evidence that they were false. .

“Printing untruths is against the law in the UK and Australia; it is not a ‘peculiar’, as Ms Wilson said, but a legal principle that has existed for hundreds of years.”

he said.

In other sections of the British edition, additional but much shorter sections, one sentence at a time, are omitted.

In Australia and New Zealand, the entire chapter on Baron Cohen has reportedly been deleted, making the version released in those countries the most censored of any edition of the book.

The book has so far not received positive reviews from British critics. Emily Watkinsin his two-star review from iNews, described the book as “so badly written that it’s confusing.”

“While no one picks up a celebrity memoir expecting to be enthralled by the exquisite prose, I fear that the writing in Rebel Rising is almost disturbing. […] Despite my gripes with the writing, there’s no question that the book speaks volumes – for fans of Wilson, Rebel Rising will be an experience like sitting down with a glass of wine across from him. Less committed readers, meanwhile, may need more than a stiff drink.”

Tim Robeythe Telegraph staff member was similarly unenthusiastic and also gave the book two stars in his review:
