William Shakespeare died exactly 408 years ago today, on April 23, 1616, to whom we owe, among other things, the best-known love couple in world literature and one of the most influential tragedies. Inca Garcilaso de la Vega, a little-known Peruvian chronicler in our country, died on the same day, as well as the Don Quixote also its author, Miguel de Cervantes.

For this very reason, UNESCO declared this day the World Book and Copyright Day in 1995, and today in more than a hundred countries they try to draw attention to the love of books and the importance of reading in some way.

ON APRIL 23, LIBRI IS ALSO PREPARING A SPECIAL, UNIQUE ACTIVITY: THEY ARE ASKING VISITORS TO THEIR STORES TO READ FOR AT LEAST 20 MINUTES ON THE SITE.

With the promotion, Libri would break the Hungarian record for reading at the same time. “Researchers at the University of Sussex found that even just 20 minutes of reading a day can reduce our stress levels by nearly 70 percent. Books are therefore not only suitable for learning, self-improvement or spending our free time: reading also improves our quality of life in the long term,” says Orsolya Ludvig, director of marketing and communications at Libri.

Libri encourages readers to come into their stores on April 23, between 5 and 7 p.m., take a book off the shelf and read for at least 20 minutes on the spot. To participate in the record attempt, they must register using a QR code on their own phone – hostesses will help those who do not have a smartphone.

Libri will thank the participants for their playfulness and love of reading with a 20 percent discount coupon that can be used until May 7. Libri will inform interested parties about the result of the record attempt in the weeks following the campaign.
