I can clearly see what is happening out there, both victory and defeat, which is why I gave my exhibition the title The Beautiful Loser – the painter Márton Győri, whose exhibition opens after a decade and a half, spoke about this in an interview with Magyar Hang. He said that these two words, which are almost never used together, perfectly describe what the intellectual form of existence has degraded to in this country. Today, it is no longer fashionable to think, observe, interpret, and especially not to wonder how, how, the world could be made better. According to him, the task of a painter is not only to create and influence his audience with his pictures, but also to have an opinion and the courage to express it.

With the exhibition, he also wants to draw attention to the fact that “if we let the way of thinking open to cultural diversity be lost, we can lose everything”.

• What do you think of Péter Magyar?
• And about Demeter Szilárd?
• Can Fidesz be defeated with Fidesz’s methods?
• Why didn’t you exhibit for a decade and a half?
• How does it affect the world if it doesn’t reach the audience?
